π¨π It's CyberSecurity Awareness Month!!!
What? π No excited faces? π₯³ No Cheers? Ok - so online security isn't a party. BUT - It isn't that hard either. It starts with: what's needed, why, the cost, and the plan.
What?
π No excited faces?
π₯³ No cheers?
Ok - so online security isn't a party. It isn't a D&D games night. It isn't a night out with friends.
We DO try to make online security as fun and interesting and understandable as possible -
BUT
The point is this: criminals are !!everywhere!!
Online. Offline.
The methods don't change:
-- Catch the human targets off guard - OR sneak in quietly and steal the keys - OR break in when nobody's watching.
My point?
"CyberSecurity Awareness" only works if we pay attention.
At home. At work. In our cars. On public transit. In airports, coffee shops, and hotels.
And the more we pay attention, the more understandable, relatable, and operationally feasible it becomes.
And the mic drop?!?
Company security begins with company Leadership. With participation, support, and a workable understanding of what's needed, why, the cost, and the plan.
Don't get me wrong - every one of us must be a security leader in our own personal / work online activities - but effecting real security within a company and it's vendors, partners, et al.? That begins with the company Leadership itself.
We can do this - together we can Keep Cybercriminals Unemployed!
