Abracadabra! How to use Code Words to Combat AI... like magic!
Time to start creating shared "code words or phrases" for when we need to verify that the "someone" who has called/texted/emailed is who they claim to be - and not a bot or a scammer. It's a great way to verify identity!

🚨 🔐 This first week of security awareness month we’re focusing on those AI tools that many use to make life a little easier - but they also make cyber crime easier too.
We want to help you protect yourself in ALL of your online adventures.
What do “Abracadabra”, “Open Sesame”, and “Pretty Please” all have in common?
They’re passphrases that open up a world of possibilities.
But there’s one world of possibilities we don’t want to give easy access to:
Cyber criminals using AI voice cloning and deep fakes against you and your loved ones - criminals pretending to be in trouble and needing cash fast.
How can you protect yourself and loved ones from these hair-raising scams?
Consider creating your own family passphrase.
Make sure to choose a word/phrase that -
- is NOT commonly in everyday conversation
- does NOT include information such as the name of your pet, school, work, etc.
This word/phrase becomes a "password" that can be asked for in times of uncertainty.
Remember - criminals want to get our emotions pumping so our brain stops thinking.
Stay prepared - and be ready to verify any suspicious threats by asking for the family safe word.
So gather everyone together and have a meeting!

Now THIS is the start of a great family meeting!
