As promised last week - I’m catching up!

I have been a bit behind on newsletters this summer/autumn, so you may see an extra newsletter or 2 pop into your inbox over the coming weeks. So many important topics that need to be part of our ongoing conversation!  I hope you enjoy this one! Please jump in after reading - add comments, thoughts, questions, and ideas!

Let’s get started! This is Part 2-of-3 in our “What if you could see the possibilities?” series.

As both a planet and as people, we need amazing tech companies to succeed. We need the advances they bring in health, medicine, security, business and more. And private investment is crucial to this success.

So - let’s talk about tech. And investing. And getting out of our comfort zones. This week is “the investor’s perspective” (investees are next week!).

First -

Understanding the level of tech that COULD be available today, in our everyday life, is crucial. And that means digging deeper than news stories about “what got funded” and “what succeeded without funding”. You will be AMAZED at what is possible!

Second -

Asking ourselves - how do these amazing technologies get out into the world??

Well - besides brains, talent, time, hard work, etc. etc…. The majority need investment funding!

Third -

How do these companies catch the eye of investors??

There are many ways to increase investability of a company. Today we’ll look at diversity.

Stats tell us that investing in companies owned/run by women is just good business.

AND - if we add the stats about investing in diversity in general - including gender, LGBTQ+, culture, ethnicity, neurodiversity, race, ability, and ??? - the stats just get better.

And yet - the stats on investment in all kinds of diversity are very low.

Why ??

So many company execs today are stuck in their thought patterns and outdated ideas of how to excel at what they do.

— Such a loss for the investors who invest in them.

So many investment funds are stuck in the same thought patterns and outdated ideas of how to maximize their investor returns.

— Such a loss for the investors who invest with them.

So many forward-thinking outside-the-box founders, their companies, and the opportunities they offer - never get to market.

— Such a loss for the world.

So - What if you are on the other side of this crucial “investment bridge” that we have been talking about?? What would you do if you needed investment, but you were NOT "status quo" and you were new to the "I think I need investment" table?

Meet me here for Part 3 in this series — because understanding both sides of the investing table is vital to funding high quality, high integrity tech. Life-saving tech. Educational tech. Security tech. You get the picture :-)

We should all try to see things from both sides of the investment table - as both an investor and an investee.

See you on "The Other Side of the Table"!

Let’s keep the conversation going!
